SKU PME-MT-BL · Motorised

A tubular motor sits inside the roller tube or the blind headrail, so there is nothing visible beyond the blind itself — no chain, no wand, no box on the wall. It is the neatest automation we fit and the easiest to justify. On a high window a manual chain is either a ladder job or, in practice, a blind that gets left permanently closed.

We fit motorised blinds across Dubai and the UAE on roller, zebra, roman, venetian and vertical systems, wired or on rechargeable tubular motors, with the option to group several blinds so a whole glazed elevation moves together.

Which blinds can be motorised?
Roller and zebra motorise most cleanly, because the motor lives inside the tube that already does the work. Roman blinds motorise very well on a corded headrail. Venetian blinds can be motorised for tilt alone — usually enough, since tilt is what you actually adjust — or for tilt and lift together. Vertical blinds can be done but the mechanism is bulkier, so ask to see one first.
Can several blinds move together?
Yes. Blinds can be grouped on one channel so a wall of windows moves as one, while still being individually addressable on other buttons. On a glazed elevation this is what makes the difference between a considered room and five blinds stopped at five slightly different heights.
Do motorised blinds need wiring or a plug socket?
Not for a retrofit. Rechargeable tubular motors are the norm and are charged from an ordinary socket every few months. What needs planning is access: a battery motor five metres up a stairwell means a ladder twice a year unless you add a solar panel on the glass or a wired spur behind the headrail. On south and west-facing glass, solar does most of the work.
Why do my blinds stop at slightly different heights?
Because the upper and lower limits were not commissioned properly. Motorised blinds stop on programmed positions, not a physical brake, and matching those positions across a group is a job done at installation and often rushed. It can be corrected — the limits are re-settable.
Are motorised blinds worth it on a normal-height window?
Honestly, not always. The clear case is a window you cannot comfortably reach or one behind furniture, a glazed wall you want moving as a group, or west-facing glass you want closing on a schedule before the heat arrives. On an ordinary bedroom window within arm's reach, a chain works fine and the money is better spent on the fabric.
Can motorised blinds and curtains run on the same remote?
Yes, if they are specified together. Blinds and motorised curtains can share a remote, a hub and a schedule, so one button closes the lot in the evening. It is much easier to plan that at the survey than to make two separate systems talk to each other afterwards.

Compare with

Where it stops being a luxury

Stairwell glazing. Double-height living rooms. Clerestory windows above a kitchen run. Anything behind a fixed sofa or a built-in bed. These are the windows where a manual blind gets adjusted once, badly, and then never touched again for years. A motor is what makes them functional rather than decorative, and it is why we fit more motorised blinds in villas and duplex apartments than anywhere else.

Grouping a glazed wall

Several blinds can run on one channel, so a wall of five windows moves as one. This is the detail that makes a glazed elevation look considered — five blinds stopped at slightly different heights is the kind of thing you cannot stop seeing once you have noticed it. Groups can also be split, so the same remote runs the whole wall on one button and each blind individually on another.

Limits and alignment

Motorised blinds have programmed upper and lower stops rather than a physical brake. Setting those precisely, and matching them across a group so every blind lands on exactly the same line, is a commissioning job done at installation. It is also the step most often rushed, which is the real reason blinds in the same room end up misaligned. We set them, run them, and reset them before we leave.

Power on a high window

Rechargeable lithium tubular motors are the norm for retrofit and wired motors for new build. The thing to plan before you commit is the charging route: a rechargeable motor five metres up a stairwell is a ladder job twice a year unless there is a solar panel on the glass or a wired spur behind the headrail. On south and west-facing glass a solar panel does most of the work by itself. On a shaded north window it will not, and we will say so.

Which blind types motorise well

Roller and zebra motorise most cleanly, because the tube is already the mechanism and the motor simply lives inside it. Roman blinds motorise very well on a corded headrail. Venetian blinds can be motorised for tilt alone, which is the cheaper option and covers most of what you actually adjust, or for tilt and lift together. Vertical blinds can be motorised, but the mechanism is bulkier and it is worth seeing one run before committing to a whole elevation.

Control

A radio remote is standard and works with no network. A hub adds phone control, scheduling to sunrise and sunset, and voice through Alexa, Google Home or Siri. Where the home already runs Control4, KNX or a similar controller we integrate with it rather than leaving you with two apps. Blinds and motorised curtains can share the same remote and the same schedule, which is worth planning at the survey if you are doing both.

Heat, dust and how long it lasts

Two regional realities. Batteries age faster hot, so a motor behind unshaded glass in a Dubai summer will not hold charge as long in year four as it did in year one — solar or wired avoids the problem entirely. And fine dust settles into any blind here, motorised or not; a motorised roller is actually easier to keep clean than a chain-operated one, because there is no chain and no accessible mechanism collecting it.

Before you decide

Worth reading first

Motorised blinds: where the motor is worth it

The motor sits inside the tube the fabric rolls onto, so nothing hangs at the side. That removes the chain entirely, which is the safety argument as well as the tidy one.

Rooms it suits

High windows, stairwell glazing, windows behind a fixed sofa or a bath, and children's rooms where a chain is a hazard.

Grouping beats individual control

One command that closes a whole elevation is more useful day to day than a separate control per window. Decide the groups before fitting.

Battery or wired

Same trade-off as curtains: batteries are easy to install and need recharging; wiring is the reverse. On a hard-to-reach window, wiring usually wins for that reason alone.

Timers

A schedule that lowers a blind before the afternoon sun arrives keeps heat out rather than trapping it after the fact — the same logic as motorised curtains.

What motorised blinds cost in Dubai, and what the quote covers

Anyone pricing motorised blinds dubai is really pricing three things: the fabric or material, the making, and the fitting. We quote them as one figure per window rather than as a fabric price with extras arriving later, so the number you approve includes the track or fixings and the installation. Some people search for this as electric blinds dubai; it is the same product. Prices move with the size of the opening and, for curtains, with the fullness the heading needs — which is why two quotations for the same window can differ without either being wrong. The price estimator gives you a figure for your own measurements before anyone visits, and the measuring visit itself is free across Dubai, Sharjah and the northern emirates.

Worth knowing if you are comparing suppliers: the same thing is searched for as smart blinds uae, so a quote under a different name is often for exactly this product.

Simple eyelet curtains for a rented flat, and they were happy to do a small job without making me feel like a small customer.

Rollers for the kitchen and the study. Wipeable, compact, and the chain is on the side I asked for. Small thing, but they asked first instead of guessing.

I wanted something light for the majlis that still gave privacy from the street. The chiffon does both, and it does not look cheap up close.

Motorised blinds on the high windows in the stairwell — the ones I could never reach. Set to open at seven and close at sunset. Installed cleanly with no visible wiring.

Whole ground floor. The centre overlap on the blackout panels means no light gap down the middle, which was exactly my complaint about the previous curtains.

The physical catalogue makes the difference. Colours on a phone screen are meaningless — I saw eight shades side by side in my own light and picked a completely different one.

They talked me out of the fabric I originally wanted because it would not hold the pleat at that drop. They were right. That kind of advice is why I have already recommended them twice.

Motorised track in the bedroom. Works well and is quieter than I expected. The remote pairing took two visits to get right, hence four stars, but they came back the same week and sorted it.
