Curtain Fixing in Dubai
Installation, repair and re-hanging — on concrete, block or gypsum. Our own team, free measuring visit, and fitting included free when the curtains are ours.
What curtain fixing actually involves
Most people searching for curtain fixing in Dubai want one of three different jobs, and the price is different for each. The first is a straight installation: you have curtains, you have a track or a pole, and you need them put up properly. The second is a repair — a track that has sagged in the middle, runners that have snapped, a pole pulling away from gypsum. The third is a re-hang after a move, where the curtains exist but the new windows are a different size.
We do all three. We also make curtains, which is why our fitting is included free with every made-to-measure order rather than charged separately. If you bought your curtains elsewhere, or inherited them with the property, we fit them as a standalone job.
What it costs in Dubai
Standalone curtain fixing starts at AED 150 per window for a straightforward track on concrete or block, including the bracket and the fixings. A ceiling-mounted track into gypsum costs more because the fixing has to find the framing behind the board, and a bent track for a bay window is quoted per metre once we have the angles.
Two things change the figure more than anything else: what the wall is made of, and how high the ceiling is. A 2.7 m apartment ceiling is a ladder job. A 5 m villa majlis is a tower or scaffold job, and that is a different price.
If you are buying curtains from us, fitting is included — there is no separate installation line on the quote. You can price your own window on the estimator before anyone visits.
Wall types, and why installers quote differently
This is the part most quotes leave out, and it is the main reason two companies give you prices that are AED 200 apart for what looks like the same job.
Concrete and block. The strongest fix. A standard plug and screw holds any curtain weight we make. Drilling is slower and dustier, but the result does not move.
Gypsum board. Common in Dubai apartments and in dropped ceilings. Board alone will not hold a loaded curtain track — it tears out, usually about six months later and usually at one end first. The fixing has to reach the metal or timber framing behind, or use a proper cavity anchor rated for the load. An installer who screws a heavy track straight into board is storing up a callout.
Dropped ceiling with a void. Needs a timber batten or a noggin fixed across the framing first, then the track to the batten. It adds time and it is the right way to do it.
We check the wall at the measuring visit and tell you which of these applies before quoting, not after.
Tracks, poles and what suits which heading
A curtain track is fixed to the ceiling or the wall and hides behind the curtain. It suits wave and pinch pleat headings and lets the curtain stack tightly at the ends. A curtain pole is meant to be seen and suits eyelet and tab top curtains.
For a bay window or a curved wall we bend aluminium track on site so the curtain runs round the corner without catching. For very wide openings the track is carried in a single length wherever the ceiling allows, because a joint in a long run is something the eye finds.
If you want the curtain to open on a remote or a wall switch, see motorised curtains — the track is the same job, with a motor in place of the cord.
How long it takes
A single window is usually under an hour. A three-bedroom apartment is a half day. A villa with a majlis and full-height glazing is a full day, sometimes two if there is scaffold involved.
We dress the folds by hand at the end rather than leaving the curtain to settle on its own. It takes about twenty minutes a window and it is the difference between a curtain that hangs properly from the first day and one that takes months to look right.
Where we work
We fit across all seven emirates from our own warehouse in Sharjah — Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. There is no travel charge and no delivery fee anywhere we cover.
Our own team does the fitting. We do not subcontract it, which is the reason we can put a warranty on the installation as well as on the curtain.
Booking a fitter
Tell us the window width, whether you want ceiling or wall fix, and what the wall is made of if you know. If you are not sure, a photograph of the window and the ceiling above it is usually enough for us to tell you.
The measuring visit is free and carries no obligation. Book a visit, or send the measurements through the contact page and we will come back with a figure.
