Alternating sheer and opaque bands on a double layer. Slide one over the other and you move from open view to full privacy without ever touching the height.

Photographed from the actual catalogues in our warehouse. Colour reads differently backlit against your own glass — which is why we bring the books to you, free.
Zebra — also sold as day-and-night or dual roller — is two layers of banded fabric on one tube. Align the opaque bands and the blind closes to near-privacy; offset them and the sheer stripes line up to let light and view through. You control the light with a few centimetres of travel rather than by raising and lowering the whole blind.

Most window coverings are binary in practice — open or closed. Zebra gives you a genuinely usable range in between, and because the adjustment is small and quick, people actually use it. In a living room that faces the afternoon sun, that is the difference between a blind that gets adjusted through the day and one that stays shut.
Even with the opaque bands fully aligned, a zebra blind lets some light through the join and around the edges. It is a privacy and glare product, not a darkening one. Sold as blackout, it disappoints — so we do not sell it that way.
Cheap zebra blinds go out of alignment: the bands drift so one end of the blind is open while the other is closed. That is a function of tube quality and fabric tension. It is also the single most common complaint about this product across the market, and it is worth paying a little more to avoid.
Living rooms, home offices and any window where the view is worth keeping. Less suited to bedrooms, for the reason above.
The sheer stripe is what you look through, so its weave decides how much of the view survives. An open, loosely woven stripe keeps the balcony and the skyline; a tighter one gives more privacy from the building opposite and softens what you see. In a tower where the next block is close — which describes a great deal of Dubai — the tighter weave is usually the right call, because the setting you will actually leave the blind in all day is the half-open one.
On a sliding balcony door rather than a window, the same reasoning points at vertical blinds instead — you rotate and draw a section to walk through rather than lifting anything.
They solve a similar problem in different ways. A chiffon sheer is softer, warmer and quieter in a room with hard floors, and it dresses a window in a way no blind does. A zebra blind takes almost no depth, wipes clean, and gives you a much finer degree of control — a few centimetres of chain changes the room. In a living room with wall space, the sheer wins on looks. In a compact apartment, a home office, or any window behind a dining table or a fixed sofa, zebra wins on practicality.

Alternating sheer and solid bands on a single roll. Align the solid bands and you have privacy; offset them and light passes between. It is the only blind that changes character without changing position.
Rooms where the light changes through the day and you do not want to keep raising and lowering something — home offices, kitchens, living rooms facing a street.
It is not a blackout. Even fully aligned, a zebra passes some light and gives silhouette privacy rather than complete cover after dark. For a bedroom, use a blackout roller.
The banded fabric shows dust along the seams, so dust it more often than a plain roller. And because alignment is the whole point, a wide zebra wants a straight, square opening — worth checking on the visit.
Anyone pricing zebra blinds dubai is really pricing three things: the fabric or material, the making, and the fitting. We quote them as one figure per window rather than as a fabric price with extras arriving later, so the number you approve includes the track or fixings and the installation. Some people search for this as day night blinds dubai; it is the same product. Prices move with the size of the opening and, for curtains, with the fullness the heading needs — which is why two quotations for the same window can differ without either being wrong. The price estimator gives you a figure for your own measurements before anyone visits, and the measuring visit itself is free across Dubai, Sharjah and the northern emirates.
Worth knowing if you are comparing suppliers: the same thing is searched for as dual roller blinds uae, so a quote under a different name is often for exactly this product.

Quoted, fitted and invoiced with no surprises. The fitters removed all the packaging and took the old rail away with them.
Rollers for a home office. The screen glare is gone and the blind sits flush inside the recess.
The fitters noticed my ceiling was not level and adjusted the track so the curtains hang straight anyway. That is the kind of thing you only find out later if it is done badly.
They cover Ajman properly, which many Dubai companies do not. No extra travel charge and they arrived on time.
Went for the double layer after seeing the books at home. Sheer during the day, blackout at night, and the two tracks were installed level to the millimetre. Price on the quote was the price I paid.
The consultant brought all four catalogue books to the flat. Seeing the fabric against my own window in daylight completely changed which colour I picked — the one I chose online looked grey in my living room.
I only wanted sheers for the living room. They did not try to upsell me into blackout, which I appreciated. The chiffon softens the light beautifully and the room still feels bright.
Floor-to-ceiling glass on two sides. The sheers cut the glare without making the apartment dark, and the fitters got the drop right to the centimetre above the floor.
Very good work and a fair price. The only reason for four stars is that the first fitting slot was moved by a day. Once they arrived it took under three hours for four windows and they cleaned up after themselves.
Pinch pleat in the formal sitting room. The folds are even across the whole width, which is the part cheap curtains always get wrong. They hung and dressed them properly before leaving.
Good blinds at a good price. I would have liked a wider colour choice in the roller range, but for the blackout function they do exactly what was promised.
They came all the way to RAK for two bedrooms and still gave me the same fixed price. Fitted in one visit.
