Custom Curtains in Dubai
Cut from the roll to your measured window, not hemmed down from a standard panel. 76 shades in our own warehouse, one fixed price, fitting included.
What "custom made" actually means here
Almost every curtain company in Dubai advertises custom or made-to-measure curtains, and the phrase covers two quite different things. The first is a ready-made panel hemmed to your drop. The second is a curtain cut and sewn to your window from the roll, with the fullness, the heading and the lining decided for that opening.
We do the second. Every curtain is cut from a 320 cm roll held in our own warehouse in Sharjah, sewn to the measured width and drop, and fitted by our own team. Nothing is adjusted from stock sizes.
What it costs, honestly
Our curtains start at AED 422 for a standard window in chiffon sheer and AED 685 in full blackout, both fitted and both including the track.
You will see lower numbers advertised across Dubai — AED 16, AED 55, AED 250. Those are almost always a price per square metre, or for fabric alone, or for the lowest-grade polyester in the range. By the time a track, brackets, making and installation are added, the figure moves a long way.
We quote one number per window that covers the fabric, the lining, the making, the track, the brackets, the fittings and the installation. There is nothing added at the end. You can price your own window on the estimator before anyone visits.
The three questions that decide your price
Ask any curtain supplier in Dubai these three and the quotes become comparable:
What fullness is the quote based on? Fullness is how much cloth goes into the width. A curtain at twice the track width has double the fabric of a flat panel. Below about two times, a curtain pulls flat between the runners and looks thin however good the cloth is. We do not quote below 2× for blackout or 2.2× for sheers.
How far past the glass does the track run? It should extend 15 to 20 cm each side so the curtain stacks clear of the window rather than covering it. A quote based on the glass width alone will be cheaper and will cover part of your view.
Is installation included? With us it is. Many quotes add it afterwards.
Choosing the fabric
We hold four books in the warehouse rather than ordering in from abroad, which is why our lead time is days rather than the four to eight weeks an imported order takes.
Textured blackout has a visible grain that catches light across the folds and hides handling creases. Plain blackout is flat, even colour at 300 gsm — the heaviest we carry, and the one most bedrooms end up in. Jacquard blackout has the pattern woven into the cloth rather than printed on, so it survives cleaning indefinitely. Chiffon sheer passes about 12 per cent of light for daytime privacy.
All 76 shades cost the same within a book. Colour never changes the price — the window size and the fullness do.
Headings, and which suits what
A wave heading falls in an even S-curve from ceiling to floor and suits modern interiors on a ceiling track. Pinch pleat is hand-formed and stitched, stands up from the heading, and suits a formal reception room. Eyelet threads onto a visible pole and is the simplest to draw.
The heading also decides how deep the curtain stacks at the ends, which matters on a window with little wall beside it. We work that out from the measurement rather than from preference.
How the order runs
A free measuring visit anywhere in the seven emirates — we bring all four physical books to your home, measure every window, check what the walls are made of, and leave you a written quote with one price per window.
From approved quote to fitted curtain is normally 2–3 days. Villa orders covering many windows take longer because there is more to sew, and we give a date rather than a range. The team dresses the folds by hand at installation so the curtain hangs correctly from the first day.
