How this shade behaves on a window

A mid tone is the most forgiving choice in a blackout. It shows neither dust nor creasing the way pale and very dark fabrics do, and it sits comfortably against most wall colours without having to be matched to them. The warm base keeps it from feeling cold under artificial light in the evening, which pale grey curtains often do.

The cast is quiet. This sits in the brown-taupe family — the most forgiving group in any curtain book, because it hides handling marks and sits against almost any flooring.

Where it sits in the book

Ranked by lightness it is the 5th of 20 — among the deeper shades. Closest to it are Coffee and Brown, worth comparing side by side if you are undecided.

Rooms and layering

The safe all-rounder: bedrooms, living rooms, majlis. If you are covering several rooms and want one fabric throughout, this is the sort of tone to pick.

If you are layering, a chiffon sheer from catalogue 401 goes on the front track. With a blackout in this range almost any sheer works, so choose the sheer on how bright you want the room to feel by day.

Looking after it

Mid tones are the easiest to live with — they show neither dust nor finger marks readily. Vacuum with a brush head every few weeks and it will look the same in year five as in year one.

Catalogue 303 is jacquard: the pattern is woven into the cloth rather than printed onto it, so it holds its colour and cannot crack or peel with cleaning. It is the dressier of the three blackout books. Every shade in the book is the same price, and our team brings the physical Book 303 to your home free so you can judge it against your own glass.

Questions

Questions about this shade

Is Khaki suitable for a bedroom?
Yes, and it is a common bedroom choice. Khaki sits in the deeper part of book 303, which hides marks well and reads as a solid block of colour when drawn.
How does Khaki look with light behind it?
It holds its colour reasonably well when it is backlit, though like any fabric it looks lighter with the sun directly behind it than it does folded in the book.
Can I order this shade for one room and match it later?
Yes. We hold book 303 in our own warehouse in the UAE rather than ordering per job, so coming back for another room and getting the same shade is far more reliable than with a one-off imported order.

Khaki blackout curtains in Dubai: what this shade is like to live with

Khaki is shade 303-14 in book 303, our jacquard blackout range, and this is what to know before ordering khaki blackout curtains in Dubai. a pattern woven in rather than printed on, so it holds colour and depth.

Deeper shades frame a view well and hide everyday marks, which makes them a practical choice in a family living room or a majlis. Deeper colours hold their look between cleans, though they show lint more than a mid tone.

What it costs, and what is included

What you pay depends on the width of the track and the fullness the heading needs, not on which colour you choose within the book. Every shade in this book is held in our own UAE warehouse, which is why we quote days rather than the weeks an imported order takes. You can price your own window with the estimator before anyone visits.

Seeing this shade in your own light

Colour is the one thing a screen gets wrong. Warm afternoon light pushes a shade like this darker and flatter, and a north-facing room pulls it the other way, so the safest way to judge it as a blackout is against your own wall. The book comes to the home on the free measuring visit, alongside the other three catalogues if you want to compare.

What it pairs with

A blackout on its own gives you sun or darkness with nothing between. Adding a chiffon sheer in front on a double track is what most bedrooms here end up with, and it protects the blackout from the daily sun.

Technically this is Khaki jacquard blackout fabric, cut and made up to your window rather than sold by the metre — the shade is fixed, the size is not.

The consultant brought all four catalogue books to the flat. Seeing the fabric against my own window in daylight completely changed which colour I picked — the one I chose online looked grey in my living room.

I only wanted sheers for the living room. They did not try to upsell me into blackout, which I appreciated. The chiffon softens the light beautifully and the room still feels bright.

Floor-to-ceiling glass on two sides. The sheers cut the glare without making the apartment dark, and the fitters got the drop right to the centimetre above the floor.

Very good work and a fair price. The only reason for four stars is that the first fitting slot was moved by a day. Once they arrived it took under three hours for four windows and they cleaned up after themselves.

Pinch pleat in the formal sitting room. The folds are even across the whole width, which is the part cheap curtains always get wrong. They hung and dressed them properly before leaving.

Good blinds at a good price. I would have liked a wider colour choice in the roller range, but for the blackout function they do exactly what was promised.

They came all the way to RAK for two bedrooms and still gave me the same fixed price. Fitted in one visit.

Sheers for a small apartment on a budget. They were honest that I did not need a heavier fabric for a north-facing room instead of selling me the expensive book.

Fair work for a fair price. Delivery was a day later than first indicated but they called ahead rather than leaving me waiting.

Book 303 jacquard in the majlis. Guests keep asking where they came from. The pattern lines up across the two panels, which I did not think to ask about and they did anyway.

Simple eyelet curtains for a rented flat, and they were happy to do a small job without making me feel like a small customer.

Rollers for the kitchen and the study. Wipeable, compact, and the chain is on the side I asked for. Small thing, but they asked first instead of guessing.
